BIRNS Team Leaders

Sophia Bruner leads BIRNS’ cross-functional engineering teams, overseeing the design, development, and scaling of products in manufacturing to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives. She is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all design and manufacturing engineering activities, from new product development and process engineering to establishing technical standards and driving continuous improvement.

She brings more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience and deep expertise across manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and operations management. Prior to joining BIRNS, Sophia held senior leadership roles including Director of Quality at Veev by Lennar, Senior Engineering Manager at Tesla, and Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Sikorsky Aircraft / Lockheed Martin, supporting complex products in highly regulated and fast-paced environments.

Bruner holds a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and is certified as a Lean Leader and Six Sigma Black Belt.
